Nicolas Joncheray has been appointed Deputy to Étienne Chantrel, Head of the Mergers Unit, with effect from 4 September 2023. He will work alongside Anne-Sophie Delhaise and David Dubois, who are also Deputies.

Biography

Nicolas Joncheray holds an LLM in EU Law (College of Europe) and a Masters in European Studies (joint programme organised by Freie Universität, Humboldt Universität and Technische Universität Berlin). He began his career as a legal practitionner  in the Competition, Antitrust and Trade Department of Freshfields       Bruckhaus Deringer, in Brussels.    

In 2009, he became an academic assistant in the Legal Studies Department of the College of Europe assisting      the Merger Control lecture      for three years.

Then, in 2011, he joined the Autorité de la concurrence as a Legal Adviser, before becoming a consultant and researcher at the ULB Institute for European Studies in 2014, where he created the           the "Brussels  Summer School on EU Competition Law".

 

Since 2019, Nicolas Joncheray has been a legal secretary to a Judge specialised in competition law at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
