The General Rapporteur of the Autorité de la concurrence indicates that unannounced hearings have been carried out in the production and marketing of food and non-food product sectors
The Investigation Services of the Autorité de la concurrence carried out unannounced hearings yesterday of companies suspected of having implemented anticompetitive practices in the sectors of production and marketing of food and non-food consumer products.
Such hearings do not pre-suppose the existence of a breach of the law which could be imputed to the company involved in the alleged practices, which only a full investigation into the merits of the case could establish, if appropriate.
The Autorité de la concurrence will not comment further, whether on the entity or on the practices in question.
Compliance
For the purpose of informing undertakings not concerned by the simultaneous hearings carried out and ensuring equal access to the leniency programme for these undertakings, the Autorité decided to publish this press release. It does not name the undertakings concerned and does not violate the presumption of innocence.
