Maël Guilbaud-Nanhou

Maël Guilbaud-Nanhou was appointed Secretary General of the Autorité de la concurrence, as of January 1 2019, by decision of Isabelle de Silva, President of the authority.

He succeeds Isabelle Sévajols, to whom the Autorité de la concurrence addresses its sincere thanks for the importance of her investment and the quality of the work accomplished during 12 years.

Graduated from Paris I University (Panthéon-Sorbonne) with a Master 2 in public law, Maël Guilbaud-Nanhou was admitted to the Judicial Studies Institute (Institut d'Etudes Judiciaires - IEJ) of Paris II University (Panthéon-Assas) then at the Administration Regional Institute (Institut Régional d'Administration - IRA) in Nantes. 

He began his career in 2007 at the general secretary of the Minister of Culture and Communication, firstly as a financial intern control manager. In 2008, he was appointed deputy head of the accounting quality bureau at the Financial and general affairs department, which he managed from 2011 to 2014.

Since January 2015, he has been part of the Police Préfecture (Ministry of Home Affairs) as General Secretary of the Public Transportation and Protection Department (Direction des transports et de la protection du public - DTPP) of the Departmental Departement of Population Protection (Direction départementale de la Protection des populations - DDPP).
