Simon Genevaz has been appointed Deputy General Rapporteur and Head of the Mergers Unit of the Autorité de la concurrence as of 1 May.

He takes over from Nadine Mouy,
who joins the international network of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Bruno Lasserre, President of the Autorité de la concurrence and Virginie Beaumeunier, General Rapporteur, express their heartfelt thanks to Nadine Moury for her numerous achievements in the past 16 years. An alumnus of the ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration), Nadine Mouy joined the Conseil de la concurrence as Case Officer in 1998, after spending several years at the Budget Forecast Center of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. After her appointment as Deputy General Rapporteur in March 2001, she oversaw several important cases for the institution, particularly in the IT and food retail sectors. She was Head of the Mergers Unit since the creation of the Autorité de la concurrence in March 2009.

The entire staff acknowledges Nadine Mouy’s remarkable sense of public service, as well as her professionalism and expertise, and wishes her every success in her future assignments.

An alumnus of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (1999-2002), Simon Genevaz holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (2003), a post-graduate degree in Economics and Management (2002) and a Master’s degree in European Law (2001).

After spending three years (2004-2006) in a Brussels law firm, Simon Genevaz joined the Conseil de la concurrence in 2006 as Case Officer; in 2010 he was appointed Deputy Head of the Mergers Unit where he has been working, alongside Gwenaëlle Nouët, since October 2010. In his several positions at the Autorité de la concurrence, he focused on antitrust issues facing recently liberalized markets (handling several cases in the energy sector) and on mergers in the media, food retail and IT sectors.
