By decree of the President of the French Republic of 8 September 2025, Valérie Bros, General Secretary of Burelle SA and Chief Executive Officer of Sofiparc SA, has been appointed to the Board of the Autorité de la concurrence, as one of the members working or having worked in manufacturing, distribution, craft, services or private practice.

She previously served as a member of the Board between 2019 and 2024.

Biography

A graduate of the École nationale d’administration (ENA) (1996, “Victor Schoelcher” graduating class) and the public service section of the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (IEP Paris) (1994) and a holder of a Master’s degree (DESS) in law and international tax from Paris-Sud University 11 (1993), Valérie Bros began her career as an administrator at the French Treasury between 1996 and 2000.

She served as advisor on competition matters at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union in Brussels between 2000 and 2002, then as advisor to the French Minister of the Economy between 2002 and 2004 and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs between 2004 and 2006. She returned to Brussels in 2006 as Minister-Advisor and Head of the Financial Mission at the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union until 2010.

After four years as a judge at the French Court of Auditors (Cour des comptes) between 2010 and 2014, Valérie Bros joined the EDF group as Director of the “Concessions and Territories” business unit at Enedis between 2014 and 2017 and then Director to the Group General Secretary between 2017 and 2019.

In 2019, she became General Secretary of the Plastic Omnium group (now OPmobility) and was also appointed to the Board of the Autorité de la concurrence, where she served as a member until 2024. In 2024, she joined the cabinet of French Prime Minister Michel Barnier as Deputy Director (October 2024 to December 2024).

Since June 2025, Valérie Bros has been General Secretary of Burelle SA and Chief Executive Officer of Sofiparc SA and a member of the Board of Directors of EDF.

Valérie Bros is an Officer of the National Order of Merit (Officier de l’ordre national du Mérite).

As a reminder, the Board of the Autorité is made up of 17 members with irrevocable terms of office. The President and the four Vice-Presidents perform their duties on a full-time basis, while the 12 other members are non-permanent.

The members are drawn from both the public and private spheres: consequently judges, professors, economic leaders, and representatives of professional and consumer organisations share their points of view during deliberations.
