The Autorité de la concurrence clears the de facto merger of mutualist organizations AG2R La Mondiale and Matmut
On 14 May 2018, mutualist organizations AG2R La Mondiale and Matmut notified the Autorité de la concurrence of their de facto merger plan.
Parties to the transaction
AG2R La Mondiale is active in the insurances of persons sector, especially savings, retirement and insurance against risks.
The Matmut group is active in the insurance sector, for private individuals, professionals and companies. It offers especially insurances of persons and goods (car, motorcycle, boat, house, responsibilities, family protection, health, legal protection and assistance), and financial savings services (car credit, loan insurance, life insurance…).
The operation is not liable to harm competition
The positions of the parties being limited, the Autorité was able to rule out any competition issue and clear the acquisition without condition.
