Thomas Piquereau has been appointed deputy General Rapporteur of the
Autorité de la concurrence. He will be head of the Regulated Professions Unit.
Thomas Piquereau has been appointed deputy General Rapporteur of the Autorité de la concurrence upon decision of the General Rapporteur Virginie Beaumeunier.
He will head the “regulated professions” unit, created after missions on this field were granted to the Autorité by the Law of 6 August 2015 for growth, activity and equality of economic opportunities, also known as the “Macron Law”.
He has taken up his functions on 1st April 2016.
INSEE administrator, Thomas Piquereau has a degree in industrial economy and a masters degree in competition law and markets regulation. He also holds a ENSAE degree (École nationale de la statistique et de l'administration économique – Statistics and economic administration national school).
Deputy head of the merger control unit at the General Directorate for competition, consumer affairs and fraud control (DGCCRF) between 2005 and 2008, he was a case officer (seconded national expert) at the European Commission until 2014, when he became head of 6C bureau for “Financial services and regulated professions” at the DGCCRF.
